Hulusi AKAR

Hulusi AKAR was born in Kayseri in 1952. After completing his primary and secondary education in Kayseri, he graduated from the Military Academy in 1972, the Infantry School in 1973 and the Army Command and Staff College in 1982.

He actively served in the Turkish Armed Forces for a total of 49 years. During his military career as an officer, he served in various positions at the Turkish Armed Forces and NATO including the command of Turkish Task Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1997-1998). POSEIDON-21 Exercise Was Completed

The POSEIDON-21 Exercise hosted by Romania was successfully completed in the Western Black Sea with the participation of the Turkish SNMCMG-2 flagship TCG SOKULLU MEHMET PAŞA under the command of Navy Colonel Yusuf Karagülle and the Turkish mine sweeper TCG AYVALIK between the dates of 26 February and 5 March 2021. Additionally, naval components from the US, Belgium, Spain, Romania and Greece also took part in the exercise.

The Turkish TCG SOKULLU MEHMET PAŞA continues its duty as the flagship of the SNMCMG-2 between the dates of 20 February and 16 April 2021. As part of the planned activities, Turkey will participate in mine warfare exercises hosted by NATO member countries in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. Additionally, bilateral naval training will continue to be conducted with riparian countries.
