Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Press Release on Doğu Akdeniz-2025 Invitation Exercise

1. Invitex Doğu Akdeniz-2025 Exercise will be conducted in the Eastern Mediterranean between 22 November – 3 December 2025.

2. Doğu Akdeniz-2025 Exercise will simulate a Crisis Response (CRO) and Humanitarian Assistance - Disaster Relief (HA/DR) operation which is based on a fictitious scenario and geostrategic situation developed by Turkish Navy. The ultimate goal is to create an escalating crisis situation that requires force assembly, combat enhancement and force integration training (CET/FIT) and deployment.

3. Participation to this exercise;

a. National units from Turkish Naval Forces Command , Turkish Land Forces Command, Turkish Air Force Command and Turkish Coasts Guard Command,

b. The USA, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and NATO (Standing Maritime Group-2 and Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group-2) elements on duty, in practice,

c. Argentina, Azerbaijan, UAE, Bahrain, Indonesia, Gabon, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Peru and Saudi Arabia will participate as observers with 34 personnel.

4. Additionally, the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health, Turkish Red Crescent, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Ministry of Interior will participate in the exercise within the scope of joint trainings with Civil Public Institutions and Organizations.
