Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Press Release on Japan Sail by TCG KINALIADA Corvette

1. Within the scope of “100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Türkiye-Japan” and “134th anniversary of the ERTUĞRUL Frigate’s sail to Japan”; TCG KINALIADA (F-514) will conduct port visits between April 8-August 19, 2024  in order to demonstrate the capabilities of Turkish Naval Forces, introduce our national platforms and improve bilateral relations with the countries to be visited.

Scheduled port visits are as follows; Jeddah/Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Mogadishu/Somalia, Male/Maldives, Chittagong/Bangladesh, Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia, Jakarta/Indonesia, Bangkok/Thailand, Hong Kong/China, Busan/South Korea, Kushimoto/Japan, Tokio/Japan, Hiroshima/Japan, Manila/Philippines, Singapore, Colombo/Sri Lanka, Mumbai/India, Muscat/Oman, Doha/Qatar, Abu Dhabi/United Arab Emirates, Karachi/Pakistan and Aqaba/Jordan.

2. Accordingly, TCG KINALIADA (F-514) is:

a) to conduct exercises along with the naval forces of the countries to be visited,

b) to organize ceremonies at Turkish Martyrs’ Cemeteries in the countries to be visited,

c) to hold a ceremony in Japan within the scope of “134th anniversary of the ERTUĞRUL Frigate’s sail to Japan”,

d) to provide direct support to Combined Task Force-151 (CTF-151) for the counter piracy operations.

3. Therefore, a ceremony to be held in Foça Naval Base on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 14.00 in order to bid farewell TCG KINALIADA (F-514), for its four and a half month mission.
