Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Press Release on Erciyes-2025 Airborne Exercise

1. Erciyes-2025 Exercise is an airborne exercise conducted by the 1st Commando Brigade Command, under the command and control of the 4th Corps Command, hosted by Türkiye. The exercise will be conducted with the participation of allied countries at Şehit Teğmen Hasan Bak Drop Zone in Kayseri/Türkiye on May 12-30, 2025.

2. The aim of the exercise is to practice the airborne capability and capacity in other types of operations such as conventional and peace support operations, to revive the battlefield in all its dimensions, and to develop the capability to conduct joint and combined operations with friendly and allied nations to establish, maintain and support peace.

3. In this exercise: the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the Land Forces Command, the Air Force Command, civilian public institutions and organizations, and Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Georgia, Finland, Spain, Italy, Pakistan, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan will participate with units and observers.
