Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Kurmay Albay Halit AKMANSU 1884 yılında Kastamonu’da doğdu. Mühendishane-i Berri Hümayundan 1906 yılında teğmen, devam ettiği Harp Akademisinden 1909 yılında kurmay yüzbaşı olarak mezun oldu. 1911 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. 2 Haziran 1911’de Halep Redif Tümeni Kurmaylığında görevlendirildi. Bu görevi ile Balkan Savaşı’na katıldı. 7 Ağustos 1913’te 13’üncü Kolordu Kurmaylığına atandı. 23 Mart 1914’te 8’inci Kolordu Kurmaylığına tayini çıktı. Bu görevde iken Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girildi. 23 Nisan 1915’te Irak ve Havalisi Komutanlığında, 24 Eylül 1916’da 52’nci Tümen Kurmaylığında görev aldı. 14 Aralık 1916’da kurmay binbaşılığa terfi etti. 6 Aralık 1917’de 18’inci Kolordu kurmay başkanı, 5 Aralık 1918’de 6’ncı Ordu Karargâhında 1’inci Şube müdürü oldu. Temmuz 1919’da 13’üncü Kolordu kurmay başkanı, Mayıs 1920’de Tümen komutanı yetkisiyle Maraş Bölge komutanı, 7 Ağustos 1920’de 13’üncü Kolordu Karargâhı Elcezire Cephesi Karargâhına dönüştüğünden bu Cephe’nin Kurmay Başkanlığına atandı. 29 Aralık 1920’de MSB Nakliyat Şubesi Müdürlüğüne getirildi. 1 Mart 1921’de kurmay yarbaylığa terfi etti. 6 Ağustos 1921’de 3’üncü Kafkas Tümeni komutanı (Batı Cephesi’nde), 9 Ekim 1921’de 1’inci Ordu kurmay başkanı, 19 Ocak 1922’de 5’inci Kafkas Tümeni komutanı ve aynı zamanda Kastamonu milletvekili olarak hizmet etti. 31 Ağustos 1922’de kurmay albaylığa yükseldi. 10 Ocak 1929’da kendi isteğiyle emekliye ayrıldı. Osmanlı Devleti ve Alman İmparatorluğu tarafından verilen çeşitli nişan ve madalyalar ile TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Kurmay Albay Halit AKMANSU, 10 Şubat 1953’te vefat etmiştir.

Staff Colonel Halit AKMANSU was born in Kastamonu in 1884. He graduated from the Imperial School of Military Engineering (Mühendishane-i Berrî-i Hümâyûn) in 1906 as a lieutenant, and from the War College, where he attended, as a staff captain in 1909. He served in various echelons in the army until 1911. He was assigned to the Aleppo Redif (Military Reserve) Division Staff on June 2, 1911. With this duty, he participated in the Balkan War. He was appointed as the 13th Corps Staff Officer on August 7, 1913. On March 23, 1914, he was appointed to the 8th Corps Staff. While he was on this duty, the First World War was entered. He was assigned to the Iraq and its Vicinity Command on April 23, 1915, and to the 52nd Division Staff on September 24, 1916. He was promoted to staff major on December 14, 1916. He became the chief of staff of the 18th Corps on December 6, 1917, and the director of the 1st Branch at the 6th Army Headquarters on December 5, 1918. In July 1919, he was appointed as the chief of staff of the 13th Corps, in May 1920 he was appointed as the Maraş Region Commander with the authority of the Division Commander, and on August 7, 1920, since the 13th Corps Headquarters turned into the Headquarters of the Al Jazirah Front, he was appointed as the Chief of Staff of this Front. On December 29, 1920, he was appointed as the Director of the Transport Branch of the Ministry of National Defence. He was promoted to staff lieutenant colonel on March 1, 1921. He served as the commander of the 3rd Caucasian Division (on the Western Front) on August 6, 1921, as the chief of staff of the 1st Army on October 9, 1921, as the commander of the 5th Caucasian Division on January 19, 1922, and also as a deputy for Kastamonu. He was promoted to staff colonel on August 31, 1922. He retired voluntarily on January 10, 1929. Staff Colonel Halit AKMANSU, who was the owner of various decorations and medals given by the Ottoman Empire and the German Empire and the Medal of Independence given by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), passed away on February 10, 1953.
