Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Tümgeneral Hüseyin Nurettin ÖZSU 1879 yılında İstanbul’da doğdu.
Harp Okulundan 1898 yılında teğmen olarak mezun oldu. 1897 Osmanlı-Yunan Savaşı’na katıldı. 7 Eylül 1901’de yüzbaşılığa, 22 Nisan 1908’de kıdemli yüzbaşılığa terfi etti. 1911 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. Trablusgarp Savaşı’na katıldı. 22 Ekim 1912’de Kasımpaşa Alayı Hasköy Taburu Komutanlığına atandı ve bu göreviyle Balkan Savaşı’na katıldı. 6 Haziran 1914’te 17’nci Alay 3’üncü Tabur Komutanlığına getirildi. 2 Eylül 1914’te 18’inci Alay 2’nci Tabur komutanı oldu ve bu görevinde iken Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girildi. 29 Kasım 1914’te yarbaylığa terfi etti. 1 Şubat 1915’te 17’nci Alay komutanı, daha sonra sırayla 39’uncu Alay komutanı, 140’ıncı Alay komutanı ve 31’inci Alay komutanı, 6 Mayıs 1916’da 2’nci Tümen komutanı, 6 Ağustos 1917’de 4’üncü Ordu 2’nci Kolordu 3’üncü Tümen komutanı oldu. 1 Eylül 1917’de albay olan ÖZSU, 1 Ocak 1918’de 48’inci Tümen Komutanlığına, 13 Mayıs 1918’de 43’üncü Tümen Komutanlığına, 28 Haziran 1918’de Umman Mürettep Tümen Komutanlığına atandı. 1919 yılında Üstsubay Divanıharp üyesi, 31 Mayıs 1919’da 2’nci Tümen komutanı olarak tayin edildi. 8 Aralık 1919’da Muhafızlık Üstsubay Divanıharp üyesi olarak atandı. 14 Ocak 1921’de İnebolu üzerinden Anadolu’ya geçerek Millî Mücadele’ye katıldı. 8 Şubat 1921’de Kocaeli Grubu 7’nci Tümen komutanı, 30 Nisan 1921’de Mürettep Tümen komutanı, daha sonra 17’nci Tümen komutanı olarak tayin edildi. 31 Ağustos 1922’de tümgeneral olan ÖZSU, İstanbul’da 1926-1927 Dönemi Büyük Kumanda Kursuna katıldı. 30 Ocak 1927’de Kurmay Divanıharp üyesi, 29 Kasım 1930’da 41’inci Tümen komutanı, Ocak 1932’de Askerî Yargıtay üyesi olarak atandı. Bu görevinde iken 22 Ocak 1932’de emekli oldu. Osmanlı Devleti, Alman İmparatorluğu ve Avusturya-Macaristan İmparatorluğu tarafından verilen çeşitli nişan ve madalyalar ile TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Tümgeneral Hüseyin Nurettin ÖZSU, 9 Haziran 1937’de vefat etmiştir.

Major General Huseyin Nurettin ÖZSU was born in Istanbul in 1879. He graduated from the Military Academy as a lieutenant in 1898. He participated in Ottoman-Greek War in 1897. He was promoted to the rank of captain on September 7, 1901, lieutenant commander on April 22, 1908. He served in varied positions in the army until 1911 and participated in Turco-Italian War. He was appointed as the commander of Haskoy Battalion of Kasımpasa Regiment on October 22, 1912 and participated in Balkan War with this duty. He was assigned as the commander of the 3rd Battalion of 17th Regiment on June 6, 1914. He became the commander of the 2nd Battalion of 18th Regiment on September 2, 1914 and the First World War was entered while on this duty. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel on November 29, 1914. He became the commander of the 17th Regiment on February 1, 1915 later he respectively became the commander of the 39th Regiment; the commander of the 140th Regiment; the commander of the 31st Regiment; the commander of the 2nd Division on May 6, 1916; the commander of the 3rd Division of 2nd Corps of 4th Army on August 6, 1917. OZSU who became colonel on September 1, 1917 was appointed to the 48th Division Command on January 1, 1918; to the 43rd Division Command on May 13, 1918; to Oman Dispositional Division Command on June 28, 1918. He was appointed as a member of Military Court of Senior Officers in 1919, the commander of the 2nd Division on May 31, 1919. He was appointed as a member of Military Court of Guard Senior Officers on December 8, 1919. He passed to Anatolia through Inebolu and participated in War of Independence on January 14, 1921. He was appointed as the commander of the 7th Division of Kocaeli Group on February 8, 1921; the commander of Dispositional Division on April 30, 1921; later the commander of the 17th Division. OZSU who became major general on August 31, 1922, attended the Great Command Training Course for the 1926-1927 Term in Istanbul. He was appointed as a member Military Court of Staff on January 30, 1927; the commander of the 41st Division on November 29, 1930; member of Military Court of Appeals in January 1932. He retired while on this duty on January 22, 1932. Major General Huseyin Nurettin OZSU who had various decorations and medals decorated by the Ottoman Empire, German Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire as well as the Independence Medal decorated by Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), passed away on June 9, 1917.
