Yaşar GÜLER was born in Ardahan in 1954. He graduated from Army Academy with the rank of Second Lieutenant in 1974 and from Signal Corps School in 1975.

Having served as Signal Platoon and Company Commander at various units between the years of 1975 and 1984, Yaşar GÜLER graduated from Army War College in 1986 and from Armed Forces College in 1988.

As a staff officer, he served as Chief of Operations at Internal Regional Command between 1986 and 1988, as Planning Officer at Evaluation and Inspection Division of the Army between 1988 and 1991, as Chief of Operations and Training Branch at the 12th Infantry Division between 1991 and 1992, as Internal Security Battalion Commander between 1992 and 1994 in Silopi, as Turkish Deputy Brigade Commander in Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1994 and 1995, as Project Officer at the Office of Military Senior Counsellor of the Presidency between 1995 and 1997...

Korgeneral Hüseyin Nazmi SOLOK 1876 yılında Balıkesir’de doğdu. Harp Okulundan 1898 yılında teğmen rütbesiyle mezun oldu. 1 Ocak 1904’te üsteğmenliğe, 1907 yılında yüzbaşılığa terfi etti. 1911 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. 11 Şubat 1911’de 3’üncü Tümen mülhakı oldu. Balkan Savaşı’na bu görevi ile katıldı. 1 Mart 1913’te kıdemli yüzbaşılığa yükseldi. Haziran 1914’te 7’nci Alay 1’inci Tabur 2’nci Bölük komutanı olarak atanmış iken daha sonra Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girildi. 14 Eylül 1915’te binbaşılığa terfi etti ve aynı tarihte 7’nci Alay 1’inci Tabur komutanı, 2 Aralık 1915’te 44’üncü Alay komutanı oldu. 15 Şubat 1916’da yarbay olan SOLOK, 3 Mart 1916’da 3’üncü Alay komutanı, 12 Mart 1918’de Bağımsız 50’nci Tümen ve Fırat Grubu komutanı olarak atandı.
27 Mart 1918’de Bağdat Han Muharebesi’nde esir düştü ve 12 Haziran 1920’de esaretten döndü. 20 Haziran 1920’de Mudanya yoluyla Anadolu’ya geçerek Millî Mücadele’ye katılan SOLOK, 27 Haziran 1920’de 56’ncı Tümen komutanı ve Denizli mutasarrıfı, 7 Aralık 1920’de 1’inci Süvari Tümeni komutanı ve Konya vali vekili, 16 Aralık 1920’de Menderes Grubu komutanı, 19 Şubat 1921’de 2’nci Süvari Tümeni komutanı ve tekrar Menderes Grubu komutanı, 15 Haziran 1921’de 6’ncı Tümen komutanı olarak atandı. 15 Ekim 1921’de albay, 15 Ekim 1924’te tümgeneral olan SOLOK, 27 Haziran 1925’te 1’inci Kolordu komutan vekilliğine, 2 Ekim 1925’te 7’nci Kolordu Komutanlığına, 8 Ocak 1930’da 5’inci Kolordu Komutanlığına atandı ve 30 Ağustos 1930’da korgeneralliğe terfi etti. 1 Ocak 1933’te Millî Savunma Bakanlığı müsteşarı, 30 Ağustos 1935’te 4’üncü Kolordu komutanı, 30 Kasım 1936’da tekrar Millî Savunma Bakanlığı müsteşarı oldu. 2 Ekim 1939’da emekli oldu. Osmanlı Devleti ve Afganistan tarafından verilen çeşitli nişan ve madalyalar ile TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Korgeneral Hüseyin Nazmi SOLOK, 1 Ocak 1956’da vefat etmiştir.

Lieutenant General Hüseyin Nazmi SOLOK was born in Balıkesir in 1876. He graduated from the Military Academy as a lieutenant in 1898. He was promoted to first lieutenant on January 1, 1904, to captain in 1907. He served in varied positions in the army until 1911. He became deputy army officer of the 3rd Division on February 11, 1911. He participated in Balkan War with this duty. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant commander on March 1, 1913. As he was appointed as the commander of the 2nd Company of the 1st Battalion of the 7th Regiment in June 1914, the First World War was entered. He was promoted to the rank of major on September 14, 1915 and on the same date, he became the commander of the 1st Battalion of the 7th Regiment; the commander of the 44th Regiment on December 2, 1915. SOLOK who became lieutenant colonel on February 15, 1916 was appointed as the commander of 3rd Regiment on March 3, 1916, as the commander of the 50th Independent Division and Euphrates Group on March 12, 1918. He was captured in the Battle of Baghdad Khan on March 27, 1918 and returned from captivity on June 12, 1920. SOLOK who passed to Anatolia over Mudanya on June 20, 1920 participated in the War of Independence. He was appointed as the commander of the 56th Division and mutessarif (governor of an ottoman province) of Denizli on June 27, 1920; as the commander of the 1st Cavalry Division and lieutenant governor of Konya on December 7, 1920; as the commander of Menderes Group on December 16, 1920; as the commander of the 2nd Cavalry Division and again commander of Menderes Group on February 19, 1921; as the commander of the 6th Division on June 15, 1921. SOLOK who became colonel on October 15, 1921 and major general on October 15, 1924 was appointed as the deputy commander of the 1st Corps on June 27, 1925; as the Commander of the 7th Corps on October 2, 1925; as the Commander of the 5th Corps on January 8, 1930 and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general on August 30, 1930. He became undersecretary of Minister of National Defence on January 1, 1933; the commander of the 4th Corps on August 30, 1935; again undersecretary of Minister of National Defence on November 30, 1936. He retired on October 2, 1939. Lieutenant General Hüseyin Nazmi SOLOK who had various decorations and medals decorated by the Ottoman Empire and Afghanistan as well as the Independence Medal decorated by Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA) passed away on January 1, 1956.
