POSEIDON-21 Exercise Was Completed
Date: 09.03.2021The POSEIDON-21 Exercise hosted by Romania was successfully completed in the Western Black Sea with the participation of the Turkish SNMCMG-2 flagship TCG SOKULLU MEHMET PAŞA under the command of Navy Colonel Yusuf Karagülle and the Turkish mine sweeper TCG AYVALIK between the dates of 26 February and 5 March 2021. Additionally, naval components from the US, Belgium, Spain, Romania and Greece also took part in the exercise.
The Turkish TCG SOKULLU MEHMET PAŞA continues its duty as the flagship of the SNMCMG-2 between the dates of 20 February and 16 April 2021. As part of the planned activities, Turkey will participate in mine warfare exercises hosted by NATO member countries in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. Additionally, bilateral naval training will continue to be conducted with riparian countries.
