Turkish Naval Forces to Assume NATO CATF/CLF Duties within the Allied Reaction Force
Date: 03.02.2026The duties of the NATO Commander Amphibious Task Force (CATF) and the Commander Landing Force (CLF), within the NATO Allied Reaction Force (ARF), will be assumed by the Turkish Naval Forces from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026. As part of the duties, the Turkish Navy’s Anadolu Task Group, together with the CATF and CLF Headquarters and the ships TCG Anadolu, TCG Derya, TCG İstanbul, and TCG Kınalıada, will operate in the Mediterranean Sea, Bay of Biscay, English Channel, North Sea, Baltic Sea, and Adriatic Sea between January 20 and April 23, 2026.
During this period, the task group will participate in the following exercises and activity:
STEADFAST DART 2026; NORTHERN QUADRIGA 2026; DYNAMIC MARINER / COLD RESPONSE / JOINT WARRIOR 2026; NEPTUNE STRIKE 26.1 NATO Enhanced Vigilance Activity; and will also provide support to NATO’s Maritime Security Operation, Brilliant Shield Operation, and Noble Shield Operation.
