Türkiye – the US High Level Defense Group meeting was held in Ankara on 28 April 2025 with the participation of delegations headed by Major General İlkay Altındağ, Director General for Defense and Security of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and Ms. Katherine Thompson, Performing the Duties of Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, at the US Department of Defense.

In light of the mutual desire in enhancing sincere dialogue, as have been expressed at the highest level, two sides discussed the ways and means to further deepen various aspects of defense and defense industry cooperation, exchanged views on the regional and global security issues, and reiterated their determination to further strengthen strategic partnership between the two countries.  

The next session of the HLDG is decided to be held next year in the U.S.
